A French strange sci-fi short ,which is quite unusual in this country where the genre is rarely broached. | |||
In its form,it looks like a tribute to the classics ("2001" "mission to Mars" "Martian chronicles" and more);the special effects are not cheap at all . | |||
The astronauts found a huge gold deposit in the caves of the planet ;as it may cause a terrible economic slump and perhaps a world war,they decide to blow up the place. | |||
But (because gold drove them crazy?) they are subject to diseases and hallucinations :the best moment in the appearance of one of the astronauts' child: it gives the jitters,although it should be a warm and tender moment .The "robastronaut" who plays the role of a technical adviser ,and of the occasional shrink is not reassuring either.Like Hal in "2001" ,he seems the only one to know. | |||
